Unusual Side Plate?

If full auto, then it probably had a VERY STRONG trigger spring and tight tolerances to stop it once the trigger was released. Or a missing part? That would keep it running away and probably for use with a snail drum. BUT is it period or not, and has anyone seen or heard about such a weapon?

Yes, if you mean attempts at full auto luger pistols; no if you mean anything as crude as that particular side plate.

This type development or attempts are documented in Goertz and Surgess- and several German patents shown.

Period? No way to know.
