Two wild guesses...

1. Full-auto mod

2. Improved sear linkage

The flat spring that would bear on the trigger lever would suggest a mod to eliminate 'slack' in the trigger...

That it is on eBay suggests it's not too effective...

Exactly. I suspect that this is a gunsmithing experiment going horribly wrong, and it's probably just as functional as a muffler bearing.

It's obviously "very rare", and in this case I'd say we should be thankful for that.
