Question G date magazine proof marks?

Picked up a Magazine for my G date because on the aluminum bottom it had the same letter suffix as mine, and the serial number was only a couple 100 #'s off. I was really happy to get it since it was so close. My question is?? on the spine of the magazine itself, at the very bottom, is an "S" and a droop wing eagle with a "6" under it. Looking that up on this website under "technical info" "proof marks" it says Simson "parts proof". I told you I'd get to the question here..... Does this magazine go with the "G' date bottom??? OR Do you think it has been switched along the way???? Should I keep them together??? Or would it be O.K. to replace the magazine with the proper one?????
