Just an observation. Don't know what it is but it appears large enough for a Broomhandle Carbine. The leatherwork config appears to be similar to commercial leather carriers made in the 20's - 30's. Great thread. Thanks!

Mike,
It's a "Leg O' Mutton" shotgun case. I've got one just like it with a Hans Kettner SxS 20ga shotgun in it. These were mostly pre war Europeon. Made for high quality shotguns. The object in the second photo is a muzzle cover / protector for a SxS shotgun. It has a specific name, but I can't recall off the top of my head what it is. The toes look to be standard American late issue. Ron
