At one time it was dyed black and then an attempt to remove the black dye was attempted. Your mags could be original, but reblued and the wood bottom pieces don't fit well and probably loose. Are there any markings on the bottoms or the tubes. If "9 or KK/10 in a circle" they are probably of Portugese manufacture.
