I have heard this from several angles;

1. Heard that they used LP08 stocks for test firing lugers.
2. Heard that they used LP08's for some operations, although you'd think you'd see them with sear safety's or unit markings...

Unsure about treaty violations, as the police were sometimes "exempt", but I have to read my weimar / nazi police book I got for my birthday, well received two accidently, same book
