Yes, Coyotes are a concern both places actually. They have become quite urban but I see less of them here in AZ than CO. This Summer I had several in my meadow twice. I keep a Ruger .223 Ranch Rifle handy to shoot over their heads. The passing crack! seems to make them slink away pretty rapidly. I am more afraid of oldtimers here...many don't like cats anyway and my big Boy likes to sit beneath bird feeders and look...As is the case with many things, humans are more dangerous than most things.
