Daniel,
Even with a broken or missing holdopen, the gun, holster and magazines are worth more than a thousand. Jerry (Lugerholsterrpair) Burney's suggestion is generous and honorable considering the Luger was offered for free. Take it and enjoy the historical item. Once you have it, folks on the forum will help you get it fully functional. The only down side is that one Luger is never enough...you will be hooked. That is a beautiful Luger by the way.
