Cracks up towards the case mouth are actually pretty common on re loads. If a round has been reloaded a number of times it will eventually crack on fireing. I have sorted thru all my brass and find some everytime. I throw them away of course but it seems to happen often to me and I would say it was unavoidable. I have never noticed any ill effects from one of these and nothing out of the ordinary can be detected apon fireing.
