It IS on the left side of the receiver by the crown N. By serial number it is a 1914 commercial. It has a 1920 permissive stamp on the receiver. It's fine with me if you want to use the pictures and info. All we know is that he was a warrant officer in France and Germany during WWII, and he passed away in 1965.
