Thanks for your quick response but it's Orygun not Auregone. I guess what I would like is either confirmation or information on this piece. I bought it in 1951 from the father of a friend who told me he took it from a German officer in France at the end of WWII. The serial number is 3078 and it, or just 78, is stamped on every part of the pistol and on both clips, one of which has a + just under the serial number which I assume indicates it's the "extra" clip. The top of the frame is stamped with the letter G and the toggle with S/42. From what I know these indicate a pistol made at the Mauser factory in 1934 and were coded since the manufacture was in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. There are also three stampings on the right side of the frame which I assume are proof marks and I would like to know what they indicate if you can make them out in this jpeg. I assume this is a collectors piece but I have no idea as to its approximate value but if it is fairly valuable I should get it added on my home insurance. Thanks for any information you can provide.
