Dear Captain,
I only engrave on guns, and thus restore the logos, stampings, etc. by recutting the existing marks with a small chisel. (I also do that fancy stuff that makes 'em pretty and unique.)
I'm thinking that your repair would require some sort of welding and re-threading..........not something I do here, unless I'm not understanding you properly. Sorry.
Bloomingdale, Ohio is near Steubenville, Ohio......about 50 miles due west of Pittsburgh, Pa.
