Restoration info (for what it's worth)
I'm not trying to "drum up" new business, (Lord knows there is a ton of stuff on my bench as we speak) and I'm not a "miracle worker", but I Just thought I'd mention, that, in most cases, I'm able to restore lettering, logos, cartouches, stampings, serial numbers on guns......in case anyone was looking to have that kind of work done. I only work on the steel....no wood.
It never hurts to know that the service is available......especially when it comes to restoring those vintage firearms. Brian |
Could you tell us cost and turn around time please.:)
|
I charge $4.00 per character (letter or number) Logos (Ex. DWM,Mauser or whatever) are $40.00 per.
Then there's always shipping and insurance on top of that. I usually round down the total cost of the engraving to the nearest multiple of $10.00......example 16 numbers/letters at $4.00 each= $64.00 . That rounds down to $60.00 +S&I. Brian |
I forgot to mention turn around time:
It varies , but 2 weeks is realistic. |
Brian, do you think you could fix my grip screw hole? Where is Bloomington, Ohio?
|
Dear Captain,
I only engrave on guns, and thus restore the logos, stampings, etc. by recutting the existing marks with a small chisel. (I also do that fancy stuff that makes 'em pretty and unique.) I'm thinking that your repair would require some sort of welding and re-threading..........not something I do here, unless I'm not understanding you properly. Sorry. Bloomingdale, Ohio is near Steubenville, Ohio......about 50 miles due west of Pittsburgh, Pa. |
