Posts: 2,141 Thanks: 8 Thanked 89 Times in 54 Posts	I do not know about the STG58, now banned here in Ca., but as to the M1A, and I own two, hotter heaver bullets can bend the op rod, do bolt and reciever damage, while I am sure M-80 ammo or equal is OK, hunting ammo may cause some damage. I am sure that somewhere there is a STG58 forum that can be of help.
