Post Unit-marked C96/1916 "Red nine".

Hello!
I own a Mauser C96/1916 with an old unit-marking.
What does "P.L.16.118." mean??

Hi P,
Most likely it translates to Polezi Landau, Admistrative district 16, weapon 16.

Landau is a wonderful town in the southern part of the Rheinland Pfalz (I think; maybe in Baden Wurrtenberg, I forget) with some wonderful restaurants and great ambiance. Great food; amazing beer and lovely vistas.

I will defer to Jeff; he is the acknowledged expert on markings.
