That's the late Ian Hogg's book German language edition. It was my first "Luger"reference work and is quite worthless. Hogg states in it that the LP08, which he refers to as the P17, was not made prior to 1917 and that all those examples marked otherwise were reworks.

As a smartass punk I once offered this info to a dealer/collector and he looked at me as though I had three heads. Then he handed me an LP08 holster dated 1915 and said "...splain dat."
