Afternoon! Answer is yes, place magazine on flat surface and supported so magazine well is level and the bottom is about 1/2" above flat surface.
This gives room for the pin to come out. Look carefully at magazine bottom. There is a pin that holds bottom in place. I use a nail punch and a small hammer to tap out pin. Use a little WD40 or penetrating oil to loosen pin if necessary, pay attention to pin removal so it can go back in same way. Bottom will slide then off, both pin and bottom will be difficult the first time, cleaning both will make it easier. Remove spring and follower, also watching how they came out. You can put them back in wrong. And don't use too much force. Better to let the penetrating oil work than to bust something.
