WOW! Are you guys a serious disappointment! Do none of you recognize two fine examples of the elusive Imperial Japanese Joint Army/Navy Contract Luger? Extremely RARE examples as most now rest at the bottom of the ocean.

These pistols were issued ONLY to Kamakazee pilots for use in the event that they were shot down and survived. It was their final chance to succeed in their mission should they find themselves in imminent danger of capture. The two examples illustrated in this thread may be the only surviving guns from the contract and are obviously unissued.... hence, the superb condition of both.

There's also an unsubstanciated rumor among advanced collectors that these may have been presentation model Kamakazee pistols, presented to pilots who completed five successful missions.
