The way to replace the spring, is to get the base off, by removing the two pins that run through the body and base. I used a small clamp long enough to hold the base to the body without the pins. To get the pins out I used a punch and hammer. I have no doubt that there is a better way!!! After changing springs, I tried the hammer and punch to replace the pins. It don't work too well. I finally settled on a small C-Clamp to squeeze the pins in place. That worked like a charm. I did clean out the inside of the body while it was apart...
