Holsters were issued as a clothing/uniform item from the clothing depots; when married up with a pistol in police service they were frequently serial numbered to their respective guns. This practice was also done in the Weimar-era Navy.
About the only holsters that were married up with pistols prior to issue were those contract pieces which had holsters included in the procurement such as the Persians and late Dutch navy guns. In those cases, Mauser subcontracted the holster manufacturing but delivered holsters with the guns. Tom A. |
