Mauro is correct. The 1918 should not have either front or rear sight adjustible. The 1917's could have any combination and the 1916's should have both front and rear sights adjustible. I can not remember if the rear sight should have a two digit serial number under it. It seems that this has come up before on the forum. The adjustible tang sight should have the appropriate two digit serial number on its right side.
The chamber over stamp of the date looks like some hanky panky. Why someone would take the time to ruin a gun like that is beyond me. Big Norm |
