The process is quite similar. You have 1 test firing proof, 1 technical acceptance proof and one final acceptance proof. Basically the military way to waste money. They serve no greater purpose than to satisfy military requirements that were agreed upon in contract. As a Mauser engineer once said, they were making military proofs with guns as a byproduct
