My impression up until now was that some contract guns and Commercials that Mauser made reverted to the pre-1937 finishing methods and styles. The Facebook-linked gun in this thread, the newest-made in the series, has a pre- Haenel-Schmeiser mag, from the earlier '30s, which is anomalous compared to the other two linked.
