This is true. The Morphy auction closed a day or two ago. Here are realized prices for some I was watching:

1900 AE - $1200

DWM Navy (2nd issue, I think) parts gun - $900

1900 AE Buffed, refinished - $600

1900 Commercial mismatched + broken FP and Front toggle link - $600

70s Mauser P.08 configuration, ANIB complete original box and contents - $1200

I gave my brother in Texas the heads up for the Mauser because he likes pretty guns. I told him I'd bid $1300 for it if I had the dough. I don't know if he bid, but suspect not, because I haven't heard from him, crowing about it.
