I find 5.0 and 6.0gn work well for 124gn jacketed bullets. Based on that, a starting load of 6.0gn for 115gn sounds safe. My manuals show start loads for jacketed 115gn bullets and Power Pistol ranging from 4.8-6.2gn and MAX loads from 6.3-7.6gn. Bullseye shooters tend to use 6.0-6.2gn.
Starting loads are not selected so they will function a gun, and particularly not a toggle. They are selected to be a safe place to start, no matter what variations there are in components or gun. You just have to work the load up like any other loading endeavor. You could try a couple at 5.5gn and see how that feels and then maybe 5.8gn, 6.0gn, 6.2gn, etc. Last edited by noylj; 12-12-2016 at 01:37 AM. |
