Geographic location also affects price. If there are none being traded in a particular area, the price will be high. No seller will say "It's just a run-of-the-mill Luger that I jacked the price up on because nobody else is selling one" so they say it's 'rare'. And in my area, it is. And at shows/shops, it's hundreds of dollars more. And it's only there for a day or two.
