I've been driving by the Pendleton Town Hall for 30+ years on the way to "the big city" and see this 'gun' in front...It looks about 4-5 feet tall, might make a nice lawn ornament...

Today I stopped, but only had crappy cell phone to take pics...

It is huge! About eight feet tall, two tractor-style seats, two sets of sights (each side), lotsa handwheels, levers, and almost every separate piece has a metal tag riveted on...

If I'm reading the NAVORDSYSCOM tags right, it's a three inch gun. Too many tags to take pics of, and too soggy to walk all around.

I'll be picking up my TV from the repair shop down the road in a week or so and I'll take better pics.

In the meanwhile, can any of you old salts say what it is and what it would have been mounted on??? WWI or WWII???

...???...The site I found with 3"/50 stated it was for 50 cal MGs...This gun has a 3" bore...

It's a 3"bore 50 calibers barrel length. My guess you've found the wrong site, try Wikipedia.

Edit. I just checked Wikipedia, the Gatos did indeed use them. Many other crafts too.

150" = approx 12 foot barrel length.

Looks about right, in the Army it would likely have been called a 75mm instead of 3".

Often relics like that deck gun have welding to keep them from traversing... it if does move, it would be a blast (pun intended) to sit on it and crank the handle. I remember doing that at an American Legion post when I was very young...
