This star must carry different meaning from the star on Lugers. It's not a rework indicator. It associated with Red 9 barrel, probably used as an indicator to tell it's a 9x19mm barrel. None of thousands of various kinds of 7.63mm barrels that I have met having this, and none of hundreds of 9mm barrels that I have met not having this. If that's indeed the way it is, then, this star was still related with a change, a factory change in this context.
