Good info, thanks. I was also thinking that the unit marking is a bit unusual. The straps seem to be very clean, so it's hard to believe it ever saw any action.

Added - Wouldn't the "6" indicate the 6th gun of the unit? I was a little concerned about the different font size, unless the "100 MG" was put on at one time and the "6" added later when the gun was actually issued.
