1938 Walther PP to the collection

The Walther PP is one of my absolute favorite "pocket" pistols. Mine just fits below the top seam of my jeans, and makes no larger a bulge than a typical wallet full of cards... It is often my companion in the hot summer months.

Yours may not be a wartime gun, but it sure is a nice one.

Judging by what I can see of the serial number (166XXXP), your PP was made in 1940. Without Waffenamts, it's a commercial version.

I thought that winged eagle on the chamber and on the slide below the ejection port were waffenamts...

The "Waffenamt" on that pistol should be an "Eagle over N" firing proof.
