I always thought late war police or commercial... but, also, consider that the East Germans used a great plenty of mags left over from WW2,and then produced a similar product with an aluminum bottom... But, I would think that the Bakelite bottom would make it German WW2 issue... Hard to say??....best to you, til..lat'r...GT
