Those unit marked Lugers were pre-WWI and early-WWI guns (??) So the supply usually does not come from "my veteran father passed away, and I found this under his bed". I bet all nice unit marked Lugers are in collections now. So its collectors say "it's not rare" because they saw many instances, but it does not show up in the open market frequently. Buy from a collector, that's the biggest supply of this type.
