Help Identifying Pistol - Page 2

Per my previous posts, the hold open spring was broken and I purchased a correct spring for the hold open catch from Tom Heller. Unfortunately, I could not easily get it into place and being a matched part, I stopped when I wasn't comfortable for fear of breaking it. I find this tricky, but just takes time, you CAN break this part, but it will slowly slide in and then click. If the spring and the rear aren';t in right, it can break when cycled. But if it drops / clicks in correctly, you will know

Also, I am thinking trying to put together a holster rig that would be correct for this pistol. Being a 1914 DWM, would the only correct holster be a 1914 dated unit and is there a significance between the black and brown holsters? Unit marked? unlikely to try and match that way, as the percentage of guns unit marked is small, compared to unit marked. Brown for a WW1 would be best, find a 1913 on up to a 1918 army holster (a police would be a later conversion, thus why I said army)

Finally, are there any links in the forum that has images of stamps that would show the source of imperial magazines, even though my magazines are not matched, I would like to determine their orgin. Have you looked in our Technical Section on the left sidebar (ensure you use www.lugerforum.com ) It might not have waht you want, but has some I believe. Books are what you need; Central Powers by Jan Still would cover WW1 era. If you are not willing to buy books (and you should, unless this will be your only one), then take clear pictures of each base and post here.

I have never seen an Imperial Luger in such pristine condition though I know they exist in super collections. Jim, to paraphrase Humpfrey Bogart, that Luger is what dreams are made of. Thanks for showing us.

Hello to all,
I am looking for a nice holster for my previously mentioned Luger. I see them being sold on Ebay and at Simpsons. I assume that Ebay can be hit or miss but it seems that Simpsons will be straight up with their descriptions and condition. Are there any other good sources for holsters?

Also, in my previous posts, I was not able to get any estimates of the value of this piece. For a Luger in this shape with two mismatched magazines, what would be a good value?

Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Beautiful original finish Luger! I have a 1915 in similar near mint original condition, I gave $2000 for it 2 years ago. The dealer wanted $3000 but no takers so he let it go to me for less. I believe your gun would bring even more. It could be sold by the right dealer for the $3000 to the right buyer.
