Both appear to be commercial Lugers, and while the book guys can be more specific, a safe guess for the manufacture date is in the 1920's.
I don't see either as highly collectable or valuable, but I'd guess around $850 on the top, and $650 on the second one. There are a lot of variables to be resolved. Ground off lug or never there? Which one is 9mm and which .30? Etc. But those are my WAG's. M1 Garands are a lot of fun to shoot, but then again so are Lugers. You may wish to shoot them a bit before parting with them. Remember that once Dad's Lugers are gone, they are never coming back. There are always Garands out there. Thanks for sharing. dju |
