Both appear to be commercial Lugers, and while the book guys can be more specific, a safe guess for the manufacture date is in the 1920's.
I don't see either as highly collectable or valuable, but I'd guess around $850 on the top, and $650 on the second one. There are a lot of variables to be resolved. Ground off lug or never there? Which one is 9mm and which .30? Etc. But those are my WAG's. M1 Garands are a lot of fun to shoot, but then again so are Lugers. You may wish to shoot them a bit before parting with them. Remember that once Dad's Lugers are gone, they are never coming back. There are always Garands out there. Thanks for sharing. dju |
Thanks for the reply! I totally understand about the fun of Lugers. Like I mentioned, I have several.... maybe a few more than several. Anyway, I have a few that will never be sold and I have a few that could be turned into another form of the hobby. I'll edit the post tonight with which one is which caliber.

Hi,
The hole in the 682m was done after it left the factory, and I think it detracts from it. It might be possible to fix that using a TIG welder, and some work to re-contour the area and refinish it, but it would cost more than the work is worth. Both were early (1923-1924) commercial Lugers exported to the USA. Double check to ensure that one is in 9mm. That would be unusual. Marc |

Unusual "Made in Germany" stamp on the barrel of the first pistol.
