Default Re: Mainspring tool

This is indeed a photo of an original type tool to pull up the recoil spring guide and to unhook it from the recoil lever. I've developed a better method to do this; the tool consist of two pieces of flat steel stock with a small hole drilled at the end for a pin to go thru. When the PO8 grips are removed, the spacing of flat steel pieces is just wider than the grip straps, so that they can be pushed on to frame and pin installed thru them and the spring guide. Then the tool works as a lever against the bottom of the frame, so that the guide can be lifted with one hand, allowing the other to be used to disengage it from the lever or reset it during assembly.
