I never really gave that impression a second look until now. I attempted to put my P-38 in the holster but it would not go in far enough to match that wear mark. I then put my luger in there, and it was actually the luger that made that mark, it matched up exactly. Apparently the vet I got it from stored the luger in this holster for 50+ years and that is the resulting mark. It does look like a P-38 was carried in there, but that is not the case. Thanks for all the info men.
