Usually, it's buyer pushing seller to ship fast. I met weird situation though: buyer want me to hold shipping. In one case, the full payment was made more than three years ago, but still waiting buyer's C&R. If C&R not approved, at least 01 FFL transferring works, God knows why buyer does not want to go that way.

Watching shipping cost going up year after year.... Gee

3 years? The guy still alive? One would think he could get a C&R in say..6 months?

Well i looked at the original post in which lugerman stated the part would be shipped this week. he just never said which week. I know it not really that funny, but i found some humor in it. I guess beacuse i am not out the 151.00 right now, sorry for the weird sense of humor, hope he does send the buyer his part.

Default Parts on teh way

HI,
Sorry for not seen the post sooner...
I do try to get some rest on the weekend, at least once a month ;0)

It's funny how you see comments like: Oh he is spending all the time on the forum... he can not find time to attend to projects ;0)

A day after I am not here to respond to complaints ... Oh he is not there to answer for himself ;0)

Pick one already ;0)

The part is on the way and the breach block will be in the customers hands by the end of this week.

Like a very good and correct post above...

I do tend to bite at everything i see, and sometimes that tends to be a bit too much ...

But i am not out to string anybody out of there money ,
just trying to provide a service that is so hard to find this days.

And like the other poster commented ...

What started as a hobby, turned in to a job.. and I do get tired of all the negative press ... some days more then others.

And out of a 40-50 orders i receive every month, I do get an occasional straggler , that takes me longer then others.

It's the new projects I want to try that keep me dealing with all of this ...;0)

Like tooling up for a 45 GAP conversion.

I realize no one wants to invest in the unknown...

Oh well , I do... and I did.

So when the first 45 GAP rolls of the mill, I will be sure to report on the forum.

Thumbs up

Although, I have not received the part yet. I contemplated whether I should post this on the forum.

I appreaciate what lugerman.com does for us. However, I did not have any prior dealins with him, so I was unsure if I was getting ripped off with all the publicity on what I read online other than this forum.

If the part comes to me as advertised, I would like to give him more business in the future and apologize for having to post this situation.

It's Ok ....

You have every right to complaint.

I did take me a longer then normal.

But you will have the part.

Next time when and if we do business, i will try to estimate the delivery times better for you.

Most of the collectors do not care to wait some extra time for service or part they can not get anywhere else.

But, for some with that only one luger that is all of the sudden out of commission, every day of delay is like the end of the world.

Thanks for waiting.

Eugene, I don't agree and I just feel this needs to be said;

Your reputation is that you take a very long time and that you don't answer emails, phone calls or comments on the forums.

I have been a moderator on this forum and Jan's forum for 8-10 years, and during that time there has been more negative than positive.

You want to keep business, then deliver the goods. Its that simple in the world of commerce.

Tom Heller carries parts here on the forum, I have many parts, ebay, gunbroker, etc, are all areas where folks can get luger and other parts, so don't think of yourself as being the only place where folks are forced to go.

I agree with every comment here ...

But I do my best ... Or at least intend to ...

If that does not seem to be the case , I am sorry for all the wrongs I have done.

As far as negatives ....

Like I sad before .. People tend to post about there negative experiences, but tend to not care to share the good once.

For every 50 good once that keep it to themselves, I get one flare up ... like this.

If i'd take it personally, I'd stop taking orders, and attend more to my family and hobby...

Do not get me wrong, I do take every comment personally, and try to fix the problem the best I can.

On the other hand, I do take my time, because I just do not have much of it, and I prefer to deal with a client that understands. Once that do not, can use all the other above mentioned options... I do not mind the competition single bit.

I share as much as I can, I take phone calls, and try to educate people... when I have time, often get nothing back , but a thank you ... or even a complain that i did not attend to once request quicker, then I attend to most.

As far as other options on the restoration and parts:

I see Thor and maybe one other person doing it at some volume... others tend to demand service... but do not want to jump in the pool of restoration and parts themselves ;0)

It's a hot pool from were I stand ;0)
And I think about jumping out of it everyday, especially after posts like this.

Only my passion for Lugers and history .. and maybe my love for been challenged keeps me doing this ....

Someone may think.. profit ... but they be wrong.

It's more of the food for a new project or a new idea, then getting reach and baking under the sun type of deal, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the true comment ....

I do agree with you...

As far as been the only one , I do see and understand that I am not the only one , or the best one or the smartest one , or the most knowledgeable one at that ;0). I was raised to know better then that.

But I got to be honest as well: "Some time it sure feels like I am the only one "
;0)

It looks like some times, people need and buy there service or the parts despite the fact I deliver it slower then a standard , whatever that standard maybe ...

I am fine with whatever judgment people want to pass on me,
I have plenty of good once to keep my balance....

And I do try to get better everyday...

Maybe some day, when my Son is out of collage and my house is all paid up and the food will drop for the sky on my table, and I can finally sit down and relax ... then will be able to attend to my Hobby/business full time.

But .. with the rate we going ... I'd say I am good 20-30 years before that happens...

But i keep on dreaming.

I don't think that you taking your time is the issue with peeps.

It's not knowing up front that you take your time, tie up their money and don't communicate which leads them to think they are being taken.

Tell them it will take a year to get a restoration up front or 30 days to get a part and let them make an informed decision as to whether to do business with you before they commit their money.

I read some posts on Yahoo Financial's SLV message board and noticed many players there being gun players as well. That's interesting. If cast 1/2 (or 1/4, or 1/6) size Luger, Mauser, Browning, Colt etc "icon pistols" in solid silver, I bet that's easier to sell than those boring "silver rounds", and can charge higher premium over spot price. Weird enough, no dealer does that.

What I believe he is trying to say is that there are gun people buying silver, and that if you were to cast the silver into gun shapes rather than round coins or ingots you could get more out of them than the silver is actually worth. Selling them to gun people of course would also make them sell better than round coins or ingots. I know of a couple of local silver and gold dealers I wonder if they could be talked into that.

Thanks, that's right. I just searched ebay, and found there is one Austrian doing that:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/270893963574#ht_500wt_948

Even at this super high price, he sold a few. If priced right, and make quality better, the market will be bigger.
