0000 steel wool, nothing less fine than that and oil (light coat on wool); bronze wool even better.
Take grips off carefully (see warnings on previous threads about this), but push lightly from the inside while using your fingernail on an edge and pry them off gently. Then clean the entire gun using the 0000 steel wool and oil. It will look much better, but still have freckling. ed
