Ron et al, By definition a 1917 Mauser PO8 would have to be a mismatched shooter. Quite often when putting together such a luger, the parts will not be properly hand fitted. I agree that it sounds like it is not disconnecting properly on recoil. Most likely the trigger lever in the side plate is not allowing the disconnector plunger to pass under it for a second shot. This is common on parts guns and usually requires some fitting of the trigger lever. TH
