SUCCESS!
I have finally managed to get the gun apart! It has been laying in diesel for 3 weeks and then I heated it and pounded the hell out of it. I will post pictures later, but it actually looks pretty good inside, not much rust at all. |

And it even strips! Wow, free'd up pretty well actually, that'll look great hanging on the wall!

That's some really impressive work, it will make a great conversation piece once you get it fixed with new springs and a set of grips! I thought this project was crazy, but yours is definitely worse... http://skytteforum.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=18027

02tobbe -
Congratulations on doing such a nice job! Regarding this statement: "The last picture is the bullet that was highest up in the mag, not drilled thru..." As a suggestion, it would probably be a lot safer to use an inertial bullet puller to pull that bullet, rather than drilling a hole in the case when there is still powder in it. After all, that is still a live round. Just a thought. Okay? (Or maybe I just misunderstood what you were saying.) Ron

Good Job!! You had a real task before you, and it looks like you won. BTW, it does look like a Mauser hump.
