Default Re: The owner claims matching numbers, but how is that possible?

There is a nice picture in THE LUGER BOOK by Walter pg 272. Also see Jan Stills, Imperial Lugers, Pages 110 and 115-6. The best pictures, though, are in Kenyons, Lugers At Random, pages 398 and 399. My experience with these things is that the snail drum dust cover is often missing and the MP.18 adapter is impossible to find. The snail drum is often confused with a Japanese snail drum possibly for the Nambu. They look very simular and I don't think that they are interchangable with the Luger. A nice snail drum alone will go in the area of $900 to $1200 depending on condition. The loader alone will go in the area of $750 to $850. I don't have an idea about the adapter or the dust cover separately. Owners may have discarded them over the years not knowing what they were. The leather holsters are also impossible to find as are the canvas carriers.

From the picture on AA and no e-mails I would say that this set looks in nice condition and cool heads will NOT prevail. I just hope that the buyer is not from a state like Kalifornia where these drums are definately illegal.
