Either. Quoting loosely from Still's "Third Reich Lugers":
1936-1940 Rolled shaped sheet metal. Alum base., pin through the rear. Type 2, blued , Stamps: droop wing E/63, stick E/63. E/83, Large E/63, E/655. issued 1936 past the m series.
