What mag marking for a 1937 S/42 ?
Gentlemen,
what marking should a magazine have to "fit" a 1937 S/42 luger ? Eagle 63 or eagle 655? With alloy base? |
Either. Quoting loosely from Still's "Third Reich Lugers":
1936-1940 Rolled shaped sheet metal. Alum base., pin through the rear. Type 2, blued , Stamps: droop wing E/63, stick E/63. E/83, Large E/63, E/655. issued 1936 past the m series. Before this they were the type one mag. Let me know if you need that. FN |
A 1937 S/42 should have a stick (or straight) wing eagle over 63. But now be careful!!! There are three different sizes of SE/63 magazines. Believe it or not, they are called SE/37 (for the small), SE/63M (M for Medium) and SE/63L (L for Large). The latter two are for the 1939 variations.
