Japanese Luger?

I saw a Luger with a fair number of Japanese markings a somewhat local Luger guy had at a show just a couple of years ago. What I can't remember is whether the mum was on the receiver or not; may have been.

This collector told me the gun had been checked in all sorts of ways and he was convinced of its genuin-ness. He had it for sale for $13,000. He did sell it but I don't know how much for.
