Default Odin Navy Stock

Over the years as they attain some handling and patina, someone will switch out the disk for an original and a "new" navy stock will be born.
Hi Ron:

It's always a pleasure.

My Navy Odin stock is made from an unidentifyable wood. It doesn't look like walnut, birch or even oak. It has a rather liberally and sloppily applied non-oil finish, and I agree with you about the disk.

Frankly, in the early 80's, when I was told by the proprietor of the Slaters Collectors Armory in Alexandria Virginia, that it was made my "Mauser", I couldn't believe it. My comment..."Mauser never made this thing".

I may have been wrong about Mauser taking credit for it, but I doubt that it was made by German craftsmen in Oberndorf.
