Dave,
I never saw you as a know it all. One of the 1911 forums had a subtitle under the "home gunsmiting" forum, I think it was "How to destroy your pistol by pretending to be a gunsmith". You did get your Luger back together in the same condition it was when you started. So nothing was damaged but a few extra parts. Peraps one of the experts here can give you some guidence. Chris
