Default Why is this holster worth $550.

1939 holster with Navy proofmark

The condition doesn't seem that prime. Is this what a typical Navy-proofed holster brings today?

If this is real, it would probably go for well over 1k.

This seller is 100% legitimate. I have known him for years.

Actually, this holster is in very good shape - compared to other WWII navy holsters. The price of $550.00 for one in that condition is not out of line.

You are paying for condition.

Like George said, the seller is legitimate and reputable.

I hope I didn't appear to be casting aspersions on the seller. My question was because I didn't think the condition was that clean. The leather and stitching looked very good, but it seemed there were some stains and some of the dye had worn off. I'm a humble novice and so I'll study these pictures and learn from it. I thought it would be neat to have a Navy-marked holster and was hoping to bid around $450 and never had a chance the way the price leaped up to $550. All I can do is learn from it.

I'll really look at those pictures again and burn that condition into my brain. Thanks for the help.
