It may be pure fantasy with regard to the Speer connection, but it is a top quality superb example of a custom gun with master level engraving. Did you notice the full length rib on the barrel? That is no hack job. Somebody sometime put some extensive work into creating this piece. If I was rich and had no reservation about spending money, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Nice piece. I guess they had to put Speer's name on it since my Luger belonged to one A. Hitler!

In my opinion it's a work of art, really, but I share Jerry's and other people's point of view about "the story".

It is a beautiful Luger...Speer or no Speer. That engraving was done by a master engraver, and the whole package is excellent in my eyes. I know some folks don't care for engraved guns, but if they are done correctly, they really appeal to me. This one is way out of my league price wise!!

While visiting a local gun shop recently I was asking about any Lugers they had. The owner turned around and grabbed a plastic cup full of parts and said "just this one".

The cup contained what appeared to be most of a Luger in pieces.
On the grip strap of the frame was stamped "A. Hitler".

(I've been meaning to stop back by the shop and get a photo of the frame just for laughs.)

So don't try to pass off your Luger as belonging to Hitler 'cause I know where his real Luger is!
