Portugese M2 ready for test firing:
I will be testing the Portugese M2 tomorrow. I have installed the nice set of grips I got from Hugh and replace the Portugese marked extractor with a German marked one. The pistol is very tight. I have removed the heavy oil and lightly oiled the cannon assembly. Will post again after the shoot. will be using a replacement magazine for shooting purposes. David

Re: Portugese M2 Range Report.
Took the M2 to the range today . Fired 10 rounds of factory ammo. First 5 rounds were fired to check the function. 100 percent function. Second five were fired at a bullseye target at 20 yards. Shooting was done two handed from a rest. 5 rounds in a 1 in. group. Group center was about 8 inches above point of aim. Any ideas on correcting this without changing the front sight. Thanks David.

Re: Portugese M2 Range Report.
David, it is pretty hard to adjust the sights on a Luger for elevation. My experience with pistols that have fixed sights is to get familiar with the pistol enough so one can compensate for any slight variations. Another ten yards out and the point of impact might be right on. For a combat pistol, eight inches either side of the kill zone is not unacceptable. You might want to try different ammo or handloading some different loads. Striving for Olympic style accuracy might be a frustrating experience, though. Sounds like your range trip was a successful mission. Bill
